About the project

Today, most professional paths are “nomadic” and borderless. The idea of a career with a linear development in one job and one sector, in line from initial education, has lost its relevancy. Focusing on examples of supposedly unusual professional paths, for example careers presenting unexpected vocational transitions, the Grundtvig learning partnership “Crossing borders in professional paths” aims at re-examining and at giving added-value to mainstream guidance practices through the promotion of a reflective and self-reflective dimension.

To highlight “fluidity” factors in one’s career development, the partnership will organise events in each represented country (life story or philosophy workshops, conferences…). Offering original points of views on the crossing of borders in personal and professional paths, may it be that of a person having worked all his/her life in the same sector, or that of a person having had many different jobs in different fields, these events will be opened to guidance and counselling workers, and also people interested in reflecting on their own situation such as young people facing employment issues at the end of their training path or persons envisaging a career transition.
